Montage of Queanbeyan Art Society artThe venue for the Queanbeyan Art Society is a charming 1880's brick cottage called O'Neil's Cottage which is set on the banks of the Queanbeyan River.

The Society is a non-profit organisation which holds art exhibitions, competitions and classes. There are 11 exhibitions held each year, some of these are Open Competitions and the remainder are for Members only.

Art classes are held on weekdays, weekends and evenings. They cover all mediums and some specialise in a particular subject matter. A relaxed and supportive environment is encouraged and students of all levels are welcome. Tuition costs are minimal. In addition to the regular art classes, visiting professional tutors conduct workshops throughout the year.

The Society produces a monthly newsletter keeping members informed on news and activities. At the end of the year a Calendar is produced representing one member's painting and the winners of each monthly exhibition.

With support of loyal sponsors the year 2008 achieved a record of $19,000 worth of prize money and awards.
