The Art Society

The Society is a non-profit organisation which holds art exhibitions, competitions and classes. It is a working gallery and has 10 monthly exhibitions some of these are Open Competitions and the remainder are for Members only. With support of loyal sponsors the year 2015 achieved $8,900 worth of prize money and awards. The Society produces a monthly newsletter keeping members informed on news and activities. At the end of the year a Calendar is produced representing one member's painting and the winners of each monthly exhibition.

The QAS 9th Charity Art Show will be on Saturday 24 September to Monday 3 October The charity will be announced soon. It was a huge success last year and the society thanks all those who supported it and the sponsorship from the ACT Government, IMB, AnitCom, O’Malley’s Pub, Vikings Club and Copy Printers - it is this type of sponsorship that allows the Society to stage such a charity event and it is hoped that they will supply their sponsorship again this year.

Art classes are held on weekdays, weekends and evenings. They cover all mediums and some specialise in a particular subject matter. A relaxed and supportive environment is encouraged and students of all levels are welcome. Tuition costs are minimal. In addition to the regular art classes, visiting professional tutors conduct workshops throughout the year.
