The venue for the Queanbeyan Art Society is a charming 1880's brick cottage called O'Neil's Cottage which is set on the banks of the Queanbeyan River see map for directions to get to the gallery. This year O'Neills Cottage is part of the Heritage Festival - come down to the river bank to the historic cottage, walk in the footsteps of families who lived there and see pictures and hear stories and see what they saw happening in Queanbeyan in WW1.

The Art Society is also part of Queanbeyan Seniors Week and on Friday 20 March Stuart Marshall is giving classes in the 'Introduction to Watercolour' no experience is required come and have fun and maybe you will be inspired.

The Society is a non-profit organisation which holds art exhibitions, competitions and classes. It is a working gallery and has 10 monthly exhibitions some of these are Open Competitions and the remainder are for Members only.
With support of loyal sponsors the year 2014 achieved $7,800 worth of prize money and awards.
The 8th QAS Charity Art Show in City Walk, Canberra will be held on the Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 September 2015, the Queanbeyan City Mayor Cr Tim Overall will officially open the Charity Art Show. The society has chosen the Soldier On - helping our wounded warriors as the charity to support for 2015 all artist are welcome to enter paintings for such a worth while event - entry form
Art classes are held on weekdays, weekends and evenings. They cover all mediums and some specialise in a particular subject matter. A relaxed and supportive environment is encouraged and students of all levels are welcome. Tuition costs are minimal. In addition to the regular art classes, visiting professional tutors conduct workshops throughout the year.
The Society produces a monthly newsletter keeping members informed on news and activities. At the end of the year a Calendar is produced representing one member's painting and the winners of each monthly exhibition.
